Bar girls in Pattaya: Basic info

Ok lets be straight.
Those who are interested in taking a bar girl with from a bar read forward. There are hundreds of bars in Pattaya and they are filled with bar girls. Ladies are willing to spend a night with you for a tip if you like. There's a few basic things to know. First of all there's few terms. When lady says "I wanna take care of u" that means shes willing to come with you to the hotel. If she says "I wanna take care of u long time" this would mean whole night while "short time" means a hour or two. It best that you agree about the time beforehand. The ladies will usually suggest "long time" but you can ask her to come "short time" also if you prefer despite if she suggested whole night. One of the common questions right from the start is also "How many times you come Pattaya?" - now I would suggest if you're first timer then you could just say "second time", because there are girls who will ask higher price and more drinks out of those who are first timers and don't really know what is regular amount of money to spend and what is not.

(Bar girls in Pattaya)

Some ladies will try to get you buy their drinks all night and if you're okay with it then go ahead. You will probably notice this if she drinks rather quickly and asks for more in every 15minutes or so. However if you'd like to get some rest instead then go ahead and suggest to go to the hotel earlier. Also buying a drink to a lady is usually more expensive than buying one for yourself, this is called "a lady drink" and bar gets more profit out of it but remember that also the girl you buy a drink to gets small commission out of lady drink. You could also kindly refuse and change bar if a lady came to you and you weren't that interested in a first place. Remember to be polite, thais do respect manners.

When bar girl offers to come with you (or you ask her and she says yes) - quite basic tip to Pattaya bar girl is 1000baht long time (all night) and between 500-600 for a short time (a hour or two). If a girl asks much more then you could politely try to bargain a bit and decide to turn down offer in case you think it was too much over standards. When leaving with her from a bar you will also have to pay the bar "a bar fine" for taking her with you. This is common procedure and will depend of bar but about 300baht is quite regular. Remember to nagotiate all this before leaving the bar. I have no experience about a Go-Go-Girls but they should be ask quite a bit more tip than regular bar girl. They are usually actual dancers and the bars of this type have "Go-Go" text on their ad banners.

Most of the times ladies will want you to promise them to spend more nights with them, maybe even whole vacation if they like you a bit. This is up to you but there is many bars and places to see - if you want to save money and roam free then you probably want to refuse this especially after first night unless you really thought the girl was awesome. Remember not to give money in advance to anything if she asks (this is a bad sign) and keep your money in safe box of a hotel room since thiefing is always possibility (as it would be in any country).

Thai ladies like to keep themselves clean, so when you enter the hotel it's regular that you both take a shower seperatedly before anything happens. By nature they are quite happy, want to have fun and enjoy more if you have manners, but are also happy and like to party and enjoy your stay. If you don't want to pay a bar fine there is always possibility to seek company from the famous Walking Street or Beach Street at Pattaya Beach. However bar girls are more secure since they have a regular place to work.

Some hotels do require you to pay a "sheet fine" when you bring a lady with you that has not rented the room with you, meaning the room was rented by your name alone and not with you and the ladys' name at the first place. When reserving the hotel you can acquire about the hotel staff whether they will charge you a fine for bringing in a guest for a night and how much they will charge. Don't be shy to ask since it is common thing to ask about. Many hotels will charge a fine and range can vary greatly from few hundred baht to something like 600baht. Not all hotels or resorts charge money from bringing in a guest though. You can always ask in advance and even take different hotel if the one that you were thinking to book charged too much. To avoid a "sheet fine" in a hotel that regularly asks for it, you can book a room WITH a lady on both of your names. When rented by name of you and the lady from the beginning, they wont charge extra since the lady is not a over-night guest anymore but the other booker. This would most likely require that you already knew the lady beforehand, maybe from a previous trip?

There might be a few things to know and it is good to be aware of eveything mentioned above, but otherwise all things should go very smoothly and easily. Hope you find your intercourse with the ladies relaxing and fun traveler - they are mostly very warm, friendly and fun company! With these advices in mind go to find your special friend of the night!

Thailand, Pattaya

For a first timer tourist in Thailand - especially if you're single and having a vacation alone or with few friends - Pattaya can be a great holiday destination. When you are at central Pattaya where the majority of tourists and shops are located, you will survive well with english. Pattaya is located in Chonburi province about 145kilometers from Bangkok and has about 117 044 citizens. To get to the town you most likely will take a flight to Bangkok airport and then taxi to Pattaya from there. It is advisable to book flights and hotel from seperate dealers since travel packages, which include both, often are more expensive. However if you're not short in cash then taking a travel package might save you some trouble. As for one good thing you probably could go to Pattaya at any time of the year, since overall temperature is quite stable troughout the year, just rainfall amount varies a lot (see chart below). Last time I visited it was supposed to be a rainy season - who knows if I was lucky - but it really did not rain that much and was quite hot also.

(From night to day temperatures and rainfall amount)

When taking a taxi from Bangkok airport, if you're not in a hurry then do compare the prices and try to get some discount when someone offers you a taxi. Prices right at the entrance level of the airport are much higher than on lower floor for example and if you're up for a bargain (which is recommended) - you most likely get the price cut down a bit.

Pattaya is mostly known of it's wild nightlife - bar girls, go-go-girls and massage places. However there is more in it - if you want. The city is not ONLY a mecca of that. But if you're looking for a company of ladies then you're in for a treat. Just make sure that you don't keep too much money with you at once and always when entering a hotel put the rest of the money in a safe box. Remember to treat ladies well!

(Not many places have so wide range of beautiful ladies as Pattaya)

At days city is quite lively. It's not overly populated although there's lot of people walking the streets. If you're in for some shopping, there's plenty of booths on side of roads which sells many kind of interesting items, clothes and paintings. Just remember to bargain. There is also a few shopping malls if you're interested, however their price range is much higher than on the booths. Few street markets can be found near Pattaya. You may ask locals when they are open. The famous Walking Street of Pattaya is always a place to visit to and can be found near the beach. The selection of hotels is hugely wide. There is just everything from decent low budget hotels to high price luxorious hotels. Most of mid to mid-low price hotels have pools.

(Areca Lodge is just one of the numerous mid-priced hotels with pool, friendly staff, great restaurant and so on..)

One thing great in Thailand and Pattaya is food. There must be hundreds of food places in the city. From restaurants to famous street food which costs just a dime while restaurant food is not very expensive either. Just about every street and corner has a restaurant. Seafood, thai food, indian food, stake houses - even british meal. Just about everything for any taste. You probably will find something similar to what you eat at your home country but don't be afraid to experiment with something different. Thai foods are really good and you really miss much if you just eat something safe and familiar. Thai foods are usually quite spicy but you can ask them to make it mild version if you like. They consist mostly of sea food, pork, chicken, rice, noodles, vegetables, soups and spices. Tasty stuff.

Within city there are many places of interest. Since Pattaya is not too big you can move by foot if you know where you're at or take a "tuk tuk" - which is a pallet truck transporting as many customers at once that can fit in. Tuk tuk is very cheap like 5bht a ride and they tend to drive the main streets back and forth (a circle). Ripley's Believe or Not horror house with it's shops is nice place to stop by. You could go golfing, bowling or karting. Nearby mountains have a buddha temple that is reachable with short taxi drive. It has great view to the Pattaya Beach and the city. You can also take a taxi to Floating Market that is not very far either. It is a market built over water consisting of wooden shacks. They sell miscellaneous items and food there and it's a interesting place to visit to. If one likes to watch boxing, there's quite a few places to see a thai boxing matches which are always entertaining to see while having a beer or two.

Then there's the beach. Pattaya Beach is quite fine sandy beach to relax at (there are also other beaches close by like Jomtien Beach). It's couple of kilometers long and always has quite a bit tourists, however not too crowded. Renting a stool at booth will cost small price and if you want to have a drink, the very same booth will sell you. You will save some money if you stop by at Seven Eleven or such on your way to beach and buy your drinks there. Jet-ski dealers will allow you to take a ride for little amount of money. Local food and ice cream sellers will walk the beach back and forth offering you to buy some. Grilled fish with sweet and sour sauce is great! It's nice, even though some sellers will be a bit too aggressive sometimes trying to sell even when you say no thanks. Those are mostly the ones who sell every kind of bauble like sun glasses and cheap jewels. Near the beach is also Pattaya harbour where you can take a boat to one of numerous islands nearby.

(Pattaya Beach - the place of relaxation and sunbathing)

The nightlife is a heart of Pattaya even though there is much more to it. If you like to party or get to know the ladies this is the place for you. In heart of Pattaya there's awesomely much of bars. Every street has many. There's just hundreds of beautiful girls and all the bars are full of them dancing around. Most often when you walk by they will be almost dragging you in. This can be a bit irritating in case you are not interested right at that moment, but otherwise get ready to party and relax. Bar girls will most likely accompany you whole night for a tip if that is what you want. The nightlife image of Pattaya has been bashed in media, however it's not as dirty as described in my opinion. Sure it's naughtly but not especially dirty. The atmosphere is just wild but also same time very relaxing and people are just friendly, warm and want to have fun. There is no many fights or anything like that. Even in general thai people are one of the most friendly people in the world and have a respect for manners.

(girls at entrance of a bar one of the hundreds existing)

Overall Pattaya offers wide range of things to do. Whether you wanted to relax at the beach, shop at the city, see some of the places of interest, have a taste of great food or just join the probably worlds most entertaining nightlife and party. I been there twice and one thing I know is - I'm going back one day unless I'm married. For one thing it is not recommended for families that much though. Remember to drink enough water!
